FH Replacement Exhaust

Postby Mick D » Tue Sep 10, 2019 2:18 pm

Hi

The restoration of my 58 FH is in sight of the finishing line and I wish to purchase the exhaust system, I plan to go for the standard twin pipe system.
I've used Armours in the past for another restoration and am very pleased with their product, however I am aware that some of their systems have fit issues on some models.
Does anyone have any experience of an Armours twin pipe system fitted to a late FH?

Regards Mick

I bought the twin pipe system last year from armours to complete my build and the off side pipe was a close fit but needed a little tweaking to open up the bend to get the silencer on level and the near side involved twisting the pipe mounting bracket up nearly half an inch. After said adjustments they look good, when used for a short while some blueing occurred which came off with Solvo Autosol and has not returned although on close examination you can see a yellowish tint developed over the first few inches, finally I would say I’m very happy with the Armours set up.

Thanks Bob

That's put my mind at rest - they're on the way :)
