Can someone please tell me where the rubber gaskets marked "H" go on my 1938 sq4

Between the head and the lower valve spring collar. I suspect they are for silencing as much as anything.

Does it go between the guide and rocker box or over the valve guide

Above the guide. There is nothing between guide and rocker box but when fitting the guides, I put a smear of blue hylomar round the guide under the lip. Having warmed the head and (already fitted) rocker box in the oven, when you fit the guide the hylomar will give you a good but flexible seal between guide and rocker box.
