float chamber lock screw

Postby volker.halbach » Sun Dec 08, 2019 8:46 pm

I have a top-feed float bowl for an Amal 76. The brass lid has a tiny hole for a lock screw, which is missing. I checked the Amal catalogue and the part number is 3319 for a "1/8" Lock Scew for Float Chamber Cover". Can anyone help me with the thread size for the missing screw, please? 7BA?

Can you provide a photo? The lock screws I know of are closer to 2BA than 7BA but might be 1BA or even 0BA. A photo would tell me whether I have one here to measure.

For future reference: It is 6BA. The later top-feed lids, including those sold by Drags, have larger lock screws, but I think they are all post-war.
