KH/KG Front Engine plate

Hi guys, New to the group and to Ariels in general, I'm trying to rebuild A 1950 KG 500 twin and was wondering if anyone has a drawing, with measurements preferably for the front engine plates?

Hi Scott, I can take pics and measurements of 1948 front engine plates. I think they are the same parts for 1950. However I will not be back home to do it until mid next week.

You are correct Nev, rigid and plunger models do actually have a shape to them but i'm lucky enough to be in a position where i can fab them up with close to the same pressing, if i can get some basic measurements anyway

That would be fine Adrian. if you can get me the basics, hole sizes, distance between holes maybe even depth of the (bend?) that would be great, once i have a building block to start with a can modify them in position.

I have the pressed ones which I will measure, but I actually made some flat plates so I could put a side car on. If you are not worried about originality, I think the flat plates work fine, and were easy to make. Anyway I can give more info about both next week. Here's a pic of the flat ones. You wouldn't need the bottom lug obviously, which would look better.

Here's a tracing, holes sizes are nominal, drill for clearance. If you are going to fabricate a replica of the pressed part, the strip can be cut, bent and welded. Note that the front of the plate is not bent at 90 deg to the side. I measured 101 degrees, but the front is slightly rounded. Photos in the next post. Let me know if you need more info. If you print the template, I have been told prints of scanned plans shrink from the original somehow.

I forgot to say the metal thickness of the original is 2.5mm. The flat ones I mage for sidecar use are 1/4".
