350 shock absorber fitment

Postby cmattina » Wed Jan 20, 2021 3:42 pm

Hi all

Just curious if anyone can comment as to the fitment of these items. Wondering mostly about whether the spring should fit into the cup and the sliding member on the sprocket. The spring's OD is larger than the ID of the cup, so it does not fit into it. Anyone know what the actual measurements are?

hi, the spring fits on the two ears that stick out on the sliding member put the sprocket on the crankshaft first then fit the sliding member and then the spring on the outside of the sliding member on to the two ears with the cup washer that you have in your hand and fit the nuts and tab washer

My lack of knowledge was more around the actual dimensions and if they are correct, as I am dealing with a ramshackle of parts and for all i know that spring could be from the space shuttle, but the other parts were ordered direct from draganfly.

The spring barely fits on the ears as can be seen in the pic, and the cup does not fit over the spring. I have a feeling the spring is a bit bigger than it should be as it is almost too big for the sliding member (see pic) and is too big for the cup.

hi i think that is not the right spring it should fit in the cup washer ant fit more better on the ears i think the spring is from a different year bike you are best to order the right spring, i have just replaced my sliding member and spring because the ears had bits missing on my 350 NH and i got the new sliding member from peter at the clubs spares, he had just had new ones made, and the spring was from Drags

I measured a new spring I got from Single Spares a while ago:

OD - 2.055" This is an easy (1/16" +) fit in the spring cup

ID: - 1.55" This is snug on the sliding member

The wire is 1/4" and the overall uncompressed length is 1"13/16.

Thanks, mine measures 2.255 OD. Must be BSA.

New one on the way from dragz.
