Smiths PA adaption

Hi folks
I have a old Smiths PA speedometer with a brass body and horizontal drive, it has a 60mph face and I think it is maybe from a old Austin 7. It fits nicely into the tank panel of my 1937 VH, and sort of looks the part although I understand it should be a 100mph face, it seems to be complete inside.
Could anyone tell me if it is feasible to get these adapted to work properly on my VH and does anyone know any company who do this sort of thing. Does it cost mega bucks? Regards Nick

If it fits and the gearing is close, you are getting there. The 100 mph is a new face and a new spring. Your distance features are by the gearing. No of turns for a distance travel of rear tyre (with gearbox drive). Nev

Not sure if this link is useful (he deals with older mechanical types as well as magnetic)

The car PA speedos are sometimes adapted for Ariels but the mileometer will not work at the correct rate so far as I understand.

Hi Nick
I have only just read your 60mph PA speedo enquiry and wondered if you have had it altered. If not and you cannot use it would you be willing to sell it. I have an Austin Swallow without the correct speedo and i believe you have the very one i need. It should have PA written on the face and the speedo drive at the rear not at the bottom.
Thank you
Glenn
