KH engine breather

Postby robin rose » Wed Nov 22, 2017 9:20 am

Trying to solve a bit of a mystery with my kh engine which has a breather valve assembly located on the rear upper rh crankcase.
It comprises of the body and a spring and ball bearing. As far as I can see the spring is behind the ball bearing which contacts the top of the oil pump drive shaft. My question is what holds the ball / spring in position? Nothing to see on the explode views. Cheers, Robin.

I think you will find that the edge of the mounting is rolled over to retain the ball with spring behind it.

Thanks Paul. that looks the most likely.
