LF 250 - pictures please

As you have probably spotted, I will be making a rear wheel spindle that will fit a Triumph T20 (Tiger Cub) hub into a 1929 LF frame.

This is not my bike, I am doing this remotely for a new Club Member.

Could someone post up a picture or two of the rear frame / rear wheel mount of an LF please ?? That would help me make sense of what I am doing.

A picture of a genuine LF wheel fitted would also be of great help.

Thanks.

Bob.

Thanks Bob,

Does the O/S (right-hand) end of the wheel spindle have flats to prevent it from rotating ?? The drawing I'm working from has flats top and bottom leaving the spindle fitting a slot of 10.2mm. The other end does not have flats and therefore fits a slot of 12.7mm.

Do these slot heights make sense ?

That's some exhaust system  .

Cheers.

Bob.

I asked "BertieB" for some frame dimensions and he sent me some pictures. This one in particular isn't sharp enough for my purposes as I need to know a few things:

Martin's LF - rear frame width.jpg

Specifically -

1. What is the actual width of the rear frame between the inner faces of the wheel spindle slots ??

2. What is the distance from the left-hand inner face of the wheel slot to the centre line of the chain (rear sprocket) ?

3. What size across the flats is the standard rear wheel spindle nut (looks like 1" or 1 1/4") ??

Bob Ward provided some pictures - but he doesn't actually own an 'LF' (my mistake) - can any 'LF' owners help please :?: :?: .

"BertieB" isn't answering my PMs at present (may be on holiday).

Thanks.

Bob.

Bob, Acme stainless may have dimensions of all that stuff and be able to make it. Nev

I now have another drawing and dimensions from 'BertieB'. He also sent me his wheel spindle which is quite different to the one from my 'cooking' Triumph T20. It may be from a "Super Cub" or a "Bantam Cub", who knows. As long as I have the dimensions for the hub bearings I can work out the protruding spindle lengths.

He wasn't on holiday - just very busy at work getting the decks cleared before going on holiday 8-) .

I'll draw everything up to scale and then start work on it (it would be a lot easier if I had the frame and wheel as well, but I think I'll manage).
