With the second lock down I decided to have a look at a spare mag for the NG thats been sitting
about for a long time, a quick twirl and it rotates smoothly but no sign of life, after cleaning the earth
and pickup brushes and sliprings cleaning and adjusting the points I could feel resistance about were
the spark was expected, at this point a ht lead and plug would likely have been a good idea but no
not me, I stick a screw driver in the ht pickup earth the shaft to the mag body and give the points
a spin.
Holy defibrillator bat man, there was a click and a bright blue spark a good half inch long, I have never
had a crack like that off a mag before, talk about jump, this thing will either start the bike or start a fire,
I am going to have the ends off and check the bearings then fit it to the NG as the one on always seemed
to be a bit lacking in the spark dept, if I ever find the screw driver that is, it disappeared out of my
hand at the exact moment I got that first spark.
