Burtec Museum in the Netherlands

Postby Vincent.vanGinneke » Fri Jan 10, 2020 4:52 pm

Today I visited with a few likeminded souls the privat Burtec Museum .
Mouthwatering collection.
Many British, German and Tjech motorbikes, some of them I have only seen in books.

I suspect this one to be a replica

Museum is housed in a modern warehouse, but inside it is a different story.

Thanks for posting these photos. They are excellent quality.

I especially like the Lito - I'm old enough to have seen it in action.

Anybody know anything about the Jawa just visible behind it?

The Burtec was unknown to me but not some motorcycles, the Benz is a copy made by a friend Nico Claasen from Zaandam, he made more than one.
The cammy was mine bought in Reading from the same man who made the blower-Ariel.

Just found out that there is a website : https://www.motormuseumhagestein.nl/

The White Jawa was once one of the escort motorcycles to the Pope (the one in Rome, not the US motorcycle…. )

No need for that as the main advantage of a motorcycle is that it is suitable for riding on the Left and Right :D
