I think the Suzuki V twin is better than Ducati, no knowledge other than that.

Dancing needle,
just repaired a Suzuki DR 350, 6000km on the speedo, it had hickups from new at 1/4 throttle, it was missing part number 3 of the vacuum slide wich is the lock of the needleseat so the vacuum sucked the needle higher and the slide went down due to vacuum loss.
The owner has been to 2 dealers and they couldend find it :) .

Classic bike owners are probably the worlds best problem solvers..

So…..

You want a classic looking bike ?

Normal seat height for elderly people ?

Spoked wheels and drum brakes ?

Electric start ?

Direction blinkers so you dont have to move your arthritic arms ?

About 50 HP to get you along motorways ?

You dont want to pay road tax ?

All (yes ALL) parts available of the shelf ?

Get one of these !!!

I had a series of airhead BMWs in the 70s and 80s and they were fine as basic transport but even blander than a modern Bonneville. They did a good job for me back in the day but are too bulky, heavy, and pig ugly for my current needs. Just my opinion of course...

Correct ! when I bought my R75/5 in 1984 I needed transport.
And yes , they are not the prettiest bike, but their ruggedness makes up for a lot.
Heavy ? hmmm, road ready 210 Kg.
The new RE Interceptor weighs 202 Kg, the Himalayan 199Kg and the Kawa W800 tips the scales with 217Kg
