Frame Numbers

Postby Mike.Morgan » Fri Jul 24, 2020 10:38 pm

Has anyone ever come across a frame which had two different numbers stamped in the exact font the factory used?

Mike - no, but do you mean overstamped or stamped in two different places? (And if so, which places??!)

Stamped in two different places. It’s a swinging arm frame, with one number in the right place, and the other about 4inches higher.

Mike,
PM the numbers to me and I will have a look in the books to see whether anything shows up - which it might well. Don't expect an immediate reply as I am off to play with steam engines for the first time this year in a day or two.

Spent 2 days largely on drilling out and re-tapping sheared off studs on the boiler of 0-8-0 Q6 63395 at Grosmont, NYMR.

Sounds messy. In the firebox?

My last turn was spent cleaning our 9F & 4MT and stripping a pair of safety valves. I blog it all in case you need something to send you to sleep:
