Threat to the Epping Forest Bikers Tea Hut

Postby Vincent.vanGinneke » Sun Jun 29, 2014 10:24 am

Just copied this from the VOC forum.

The Tea Hut at High Beech, Epping Forest on the north East corner of Epping is under threat. The current hut has been there, run by the same family, for over 80 years. But the owners of the land, The Corporation of London has, without notice, put the license out to tender. It is virtually impossible for Bradley, the current manager, to be able to compete for this and keep tea at 80p. All that will happen is that some anonymous chain will take it over selling pre-packaged shite and all because they'll pay the Corporation more money. It's also well known that The Corporation wants to be rid of bikers in the Forest altogether...
It's not broke, it doesn't need fixing. This comes under the heading of "just leave the bloody thing alone."

Added my signature, they should leave the poor guy alone and let him get on with his little business just as it is, he's probably quite happy providing the service and people who stop are happy with it also.
