I visited the small town of Zaamslag in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen (The Netherlands) last week.
Family from my wife comes from that village.
We visited the 'Schelpenmuseum' -Sea Shell Museum- that is a privat museum owned by a very spirited man, 90 years young.
Turned out that he used to play in the streets with my wife's father, now also 90 - in the early thirties.
See pictures, a wonderfull place, he came up with boxes full of old pictures, one of them showed the workshop once owned by the grandfather of my father in law.
And yes, it now houses this Schelpenmuseum ! and virtually nothing changed.
In front of the workshop a wheelbarrow and a early thirties motorcycle, could be a Ariel, but that's is asking one to many !!
Any clues ?
I expect my wife's family is now en-masse going to make a pilgrimage trip to Zaamslag !
