Hi Paul, yes, the C is still going strong. G'day Steve,
David, yes, will do - I have a heap of video as well. It was a fantastic trip. Well organised and far better than I had hoped. About half were Aussies - the rest a mob of Firemen from NZ. Some of the beer was 8%.. A bottle of Rum was AU$11.. Both were useful for the altitude...
The Eric Parker trip was part of the "Bay to Birdwood" week (it's tomorrow). I got to see four main sheds, including a workshop area. Eric is a quiet bloke - it looked like he was more interested in buying than selling. It's a lot of Ariel's in one place.
There were some interesting bikes - a room full of HS/T's and other comp bikes - VHA, speedway solo and Road Racer.
Lots of square's. I wish I had counted, but 30 or 40, maybe more - a couple of cammy's, a few 4G's several Mk1's and a lot of MK2's.
Half a dozen KH's - one or two 51's, the rest earlier.
Several 30's VH's and several sloper's. An (or two) early 30's LG, a couple of 20's - what looked like a '25 Model A and a bike labelled as a '27 E, with a single carb head, smaller wheels and big mudguards. It did have the shroud over the lower pushrods though. I think it might be a Model D. It had the sight gauge blocked and a pilgrim pump.
There were rooms of bits. A wall of square bottom ends.
It was too busy on the day. We had a short talk about a WN/G the '27 and a beautiful VH and (Aus) Tilbrook sidecar. I'll go back when it's quieter and ask about what he's selling.
'51,'56 Squares, '48 VH, '27 Model C, R67/2, Mk IV Le Mans, '06 Super Duke and Ariel projects.
