123 bearings seem to have them - https://www.123bearing.co.uk/bearing-W6653-SKF.php - but not cheap!

I'd try a local bearing shop.

Here are a few possibles. It appears to be the odd size bearing for the Burman CP box. According to this website:

http://www.petersclassicbikeparts.nl/co ... ARBOX.html

an alternative number for W6653 is N1540

and here on Ebay are alternative numbers:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/AJS-matchless-B ... 2838369b02

Drags do the mainshaft bearing 3095-33 for the CP box...£40 https://www.draganfly.co.uk/index.php/a ... duct/5855-

John Budgen lists the N1540 at £32 http://www.johnbudgenmotorcycles.co.uk/gearbox.htm

Obviously check it is the right one...I should think a phonecall to Drags or John would confirm.

Edit...Or as Dave says below Ariel Club Gearbox spares list 3095-33 at £28.50.....sorry forgot that list. The list is dated 2012 so don't know if stock levels are correct to date? anyone know.

If it's the main bearing . The output. then club gearbox spares has NOS bearings to suit.

A 55 Matchy will have a B52 box,same size bearing as a BA.not a CP.

John,

The B52 gearbox used by AMC is essentially a GB gearbox as used by Ariel but with a different mainshaft and layshaft (no speedo drive) and end covers. The GB gearbox uses the same size bearing as a CP.

Roland.

I don't know about the Numbers they are identified by but the AJS/Matchless box is essentially a C box with different outer cover and mount lugs. The CP main bearing is apparently not currently produced. A modified similar "imperial" sized bearing is adapted by grinding the inner size a bit larger to fit the sleeve gear. This is what makes the bearing more expensive. Nev

Not wishing to disagree because I personally do not know but this website does state the bearing I posted earlier is for B52 and CP.
