Petrol tank repair needed.

Postby Brian.Steers » Thu Feb 01, 2018 4:57 pm

Greeting from a new member to this site.

Some while ago, I bought a swing-arm Ariel which has an instrument panel added to the top of the tank. I am just sorting it out to get it ready for the road, and as a matter of course I tried to clean out and seal the tank before use. Only then did I find out that the panel recess had only been tacked onto the tank, with un-sealed cracks around the recess. It needs a professional repair to make it fuel-tight (brazing or soldering probably). Can anyone suggest somebody who could do this for me please, as it is way beyond my feeble welding skills?

Many thanks,

Brian

I did this to my tank in local radiator repair. He had a tub to test for leakade and he solder it with brass.

Good idea. I will see who does radiator repairs locally.

Thanks.
