Cheers,

I think 51-52 is the general time.

Thanks Dave,
I was asking because I have the chance to buy plunger VB that was 1st registered in late 1950. I kbow little about them. It has standard Lucas headlight and gauges but based on photos I have seen I expected it to have tank top gauges.so I was wondering if it is a bitza.
Cheers,
Bevan

According to Roy Bacon's book, 1950 VBs did have the tank top instrument panel but a VB registered in late 1950 might have been a 1951 model and therefore without the tank panel. What are the frame and motor serial numbers of this bike?
1946 4G, 1950 NG and 1951 VH

Thanks Chris,
I think you may well be right about the 1951 model year. The bike is too far away for me to inspect personally so I am relying on photos. From some rather poor photos, it appears that the frame no starts with WA which Draganfly info suggests is 1951. The engine no starts with RB followed by a number, not RBH as on their info, so I'm not sure about that.

Bevan

'51 (model year) VB engine no. would start with letter code RB
'51 rigid frame would be WA, plunger would be SA......

SG
'55 Huntmaster, '56 VH, ' 51 VH, '80 R100RT, '00 Sprint ST (but all those Ariel parts can only make one running bike...)

Useful extra info folks; makes me think that the frame & engine could well have left the factory together. Its an old bike, so I am not expecting originality, but at least it seems it may not have just been thrown together from a range of bits.
Thanks very much,
Bevan
