Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2019

Postby Steven.Carter » Tue Jan 01, 2019 3:15 pm

Another year, :D
The title last year I included the phrase "Mainly on an Ariel" because I might have occasionally rode my nephews Yamaha Fazer. It didnt happen that much, and anyway I do genuinely prefer to ride my Huntmaster. My milage last year on Jan 1st was 72862 and now reads 95993. Over the past year I got to every job and rally without problem, just coming home wasn't always so successful :D I can remember one nasty excursion into the emergency refuge area on the M25. That could have been horrible but being an Ariel it died with perfect timing. Must have a look at some of my photos of last year and find a favourite to include in my first post this year.
Here I'm on my way to the Iron Horse rally in Dentdale. Looking forward to this rally again this year in march.

That's serious mileage on the old bike, I only manage half that commuting in my car all year!
Hope it all goes well this year, looking forward to reading your continuing adventures :¬)

That is some serious use of Ariel for one year, we are looking forward to see more.

Cheers again lads.
I was able to get to Chris Reads funeral today at Gloucester Crematorium. A real nice turnout for him with 9 or 10 Ariels following his motorcycle hearse. Made a lovely site going through Gloucester.
He had a great love for the realy old stuff.

This morning I parted with my hard earned money and purchased "The Classic Motorcycle", February 2019 edition only to find it full of your pictures and pictures of your Huntmaster. It didn't even carry a health warning, wasn't on the top shelf and was not in a plain wrapper. There was just a reference to a "hard working Ariel" on the cover, no warning at all!
Seriously, a nice article about you and your Huntmasters. Nice to see you in print!

Long day, left home at 4 this morning for Essex. I had a Job near Norwich but didnt have to ride all the way as I got a lift from my customer from Billericay. Sure was cold but my heated glove liners are brilliant.
As usual my job was at a Sewerage Treatment works, the cold gets them very worried and like my hands they need heat trace and a glove to stop them freezing. Big pumps.

On the way home down some backroads we followed this van, his load seemed to be escaping Glad I wasnt riding behind him :D

That may well not be the only cover picture of Steve that you see in future...
