Noise - the strength of the permanent magnets causes the chain to rattle at low revs - also a problem with gear drives on AMC machines.

Geeee, noise, yes, o.k.
But I never knew the chain was bullied by the magnets in the magneto, same goes for electronic ignition ?
So a magneto equipped FH, AMC or similar is a no-go area with my pace maker !

The cunning plan with a belt was to make the dynamo spin faster, but they dont seem to last. Alan's one lasted less then 5000 miles, mine would do 15 thousand. Which would mean a breakdown once or twice a year :D . I've gone back to chain. As has Alan.

I got through 3 of them. Twice on the continent, maybe that's why we voted for Brexit to try and keep me this side of the channel

A very pleasent day spent yesterday heading up to the Ariel AGM.
Alan and myself left yesterday morning at 7 and rode up to Jack Hills cafe for a nice full English. A large gathering of Harleys greated our arrival. We couldnt stop and chat as we were real hungry and proper cold too. Didnt realise how chilly it would be.

We arrived at Rothley around 10:30, picked up a few bits for my bike, nice stall holders as usual.

Our John won a cup for all his hard work, well deserved. Much mirth insued shortly after the presentation when the cups lid fell off. :D :D

Hastings yesterday, this time it was a clean water works. Almost exactly 100 miles alongthe south coast.
The roads along the south coast are very varied and slow. But managed to get there for 7:30.

Guess what, I've another wedding coming up this weekend. Not a great choice of date as its the weekend of the LDR, just about forgiven her for that :D
I've had a couple of short rides on the outfit. I had great help this time getting it set up, cheers Dennis.
