Got away around mid day on Friday for our run up to Parkend in the Forest of Dean. All uneventful thankfully, the weather was as good as you could hope for in January, dry and mild.
Devizes was a good stop around halfway for coffee. At the happy smiley cafe. And they were friendly :D

We made it to Parkend before Dark, with the kettle boiled Pete soon had a tea and cake down us. Must thank Pete Kent, Les and Mell for all their hard work organising everything.
The venue is great place in a fantasic biking location.

Slept very well in the bunkhouse Friday night but going to bed around 1am Saturday certaily helped me sleep. Ear plugs are your friends :D
Pete handed out our route sheets with our bacon butties Saturday morning and by around 10:30 we were off.
Before leaving a few of us were offering friendly advice to Gary when his decompression cable broke.

A lovely Swinging arm Square Four. It was nearly finished our Hampshire member Dave Endean but saddly passed away before he could finish it. Now owned and compleated by Geoff Brown.

Lovely bacon butties and tea again this morning, we just about followed the same route going home as we took to get to Parkend, even planning a stop in the same cafe in Devizes, but it was shut so it was coffee in a Greggs instead. Again another dry and mild ride home.
Another coffee stop seemed a good idea so we pulled into the White Lion in Wherwell, where we were met by the cheff outside as we parked and talked as you do about bikes. Stopping for lunch he says?, we've nice Ham egg and chips. Didn't take much to change our minds :D very nice.

Got a long day today, first a couple of jobs near Wimbourn Dorset.
One was a hospital the other some sort of rubbish to gas converter. I think all the local councils bring all their rotting waste to them for conversion to manure and the gas is used to make electricity. I've got to lag the top of this thing.

Then back home to pick up the gear for a job tomorrow near Norwich. Didn't fancy leaving early in the morning so left this afternoon.
Presently I've stopped near Newmarket for petrol and coffee.
I've just been chatting to a lovely lady who I saw ride into the station shortly after myself, shes a courier who's just ridden here from Cardiff. Now I thought I do some miles, her NC750 Honda has 70,000 on the clock and is only just over 1 year old!
After asking me where I was from she said she'd picked up a human brain from there just last week. :o

The builder who's doing the work on Bere Island for me rang me last week asking where I lived and is it near Norfolk :D Nope, but he was lucky. He wants me to look at a tractor hes thinking of buying. Turns out it's in Newmarket on my way home tomorrow. I'll try and check it out for him.
