G'day all

Postby brenton.roy » Mon Apr 22, 2019 1:16 am

Hi all,
Just a note to say hello. I'm planning to retire in June, well semi anyway, and will be a lot more time in the shed.
My riding is daily, but not Ariel. I'll need to sort that.
Vincent, I've bought a wet-blasting machine and would be keen to know how yours is going?
I see some new names - and many familiar ones - and hope you are all well.

Hello Brenton, welcome back ! rumor has it that from the moment you retire you are swamped with 'things to do'
So just look busy !
And for a moment I thought you had bought a Vincent and a wetblasting cabinet,...... 'hey, thats funny I've got one too'.....

What brand of machine do you have?
In the UK Vixen and Vapormatt are the leading companys, I got both makes.
Started out with a small Vapormatt (a Vapormate) but when a customer called with a Jag cilinderhead that did not fit I enlarged it.
Later I bought a Vixen, pretty large machine.
They both work with the same principle of swirling the slurry and get it sucked up to the gun by the underpressure from the compressed air line.
A other brand called Abrasive Developments uses a pump that pressurises the complete slurry and pushes it up and through the gun.
I use the first type, the AD type I tested once but found the force at the gun to high, o.k. for a few minutes but not for working hours at end.

Gee the forum's gotten big. Lots of posts and members. I have a lot of catch up reading to do.
John, I haven't missed a Cheval :)
Vincent, I have bought a chinese one from Alibaba - just based on cost. We have Vixen here as well. I'd want to know that there is a market here before spending a lot of money. I'd love to know more about the business side. Can I email you?
That's my goal too Simes. I have a couple of work irons in the fire and think 3 days sounds about right. Amelia seems to have company?
