I raced a gokart against an engineer from Prodrive who used one and also a couple of pre65 Sports car drivers who used them and I'm sure I saw that Graham hill used one.

Ships bridges used to have spinning disks instead of windscreen wipers.

I think they were called the "Kent Clearview" - they seemed to work well.

Of course - they were working in a fixed plane ;) .

I remember those Jim Redman devices back in the day (but didn't buy one).

How does that work Eero? Is it like a tupperware bowl? Or is the bottom cut out, like a funnel?

It is just a round plastic thing, maybe it can be made it from funnel.
I think it prevents wind go to your face.
I have never tried one.
