That, Adrie, is too much of a challenge to ignore. Are you feeling well?

The 1935 500 has a 1938-on front brakeplate, incorrect exhaust leg shields, incorrect top panel paintwork and a chromed tank panel which didn't come in until 1938. It also has a 1938 - onward clutch lever on the gearbox and the distance between the gold lines on the tank is too small.

That said, its a very nice bike indeed but if Adrie says its perfect then .......................

Should this not have the 3 brush generator with no regulator, not a Lucas MT110 tail lamp, incorrect finned exhaust clamps, oil line to oil gauge looks to be missing, headlamp dip switch likely incorrect, knob on tool box should likely be chrome, missing chrome covers on valves, looks to be something odd with the p-clamp mount attachment point where it fastens to lower seat spring bolt, unusual light switch knob, petrol tap correct? patent disk on petrol tank panel bolt missing, no air pump, headlamp rim attachment should be clip? kickstart lever is later pinch clamp style so kick start shaft likely incorrect also. Getting nit picking here ...
That said, a very nice bike.

Don't think the regulated 2 brush generator came till 37. The seat's mounted FUNNY. Unusual spoke pattern for front wheel. it's done by someone who knows how to adapt a not quite correct rim. It's a high price so you expect a good example. They are not that common though. I would rather buy a project in pieces, myself so you can see what you are getting or not getting but a pile of bits scares off most people..Nev

I didn't say it's perfect but much bether than the dealer offerings in the last year, i would buy it if it wasn't for the fact that i have stopt collecting Ariels and going to rallies, a relief for some :D .
I will also end my membership when my paypal account is empty but that could take a long time.

Hmmmm, apart from what is already said (about Verralls Bike)
I spot a 19" front rim with text on the side of the rim.
Red Hunters have 20"
That is probably a Italian made Dunlop lookalike, called Radaelli .
Now Italians make great jobs of making all sorts of pasta and are equally good at crossing lakes on floats but putting Italian chrome rims on a restoration like this not done IMHO
Anyway, deduct lots of pounds from price to have wheels rebuild with Devon rims and one new front 20" tire....
The top castings on the girder itself I recognise as late W/NG or early post war
(there is a minute difference only known to da real anoraks......you know…yes,..those  ).
In order to get it right try find a correct sized prewar girder, good luck …..
Switch in headlamp ? looks odd to me with text on rim (from a car?)
It does have the rather awkward RHS stand.
