It can be fitted with a 15 micron paper filter ?

It says for kerosene (parrafin?) or fuel oil (diesel) so really a fuel filter rather than an oil filter.

Looking on internet looks like a 'normal' engine oil filter has a filter element of about 40 microns so i would think 15 microns may be quite restrictive to the flow of oil, especially when it is cold. Also no bypass facility so if the filter becomes blocked / oil is thick when cold then there will be no oil flow.

Just my thoughts

Cheers

As Alan inferred, I assume that you are thinking of some type of oil filter between the oil tank and the oil pump, I am also thinking of something down that route, winter night boredom makes you do some strange things  .

Currently I am looking into a magnetic type pickup filter that would not restrict the oil flow, my idea is that the oil would flow from the oil tank into a small "catchment well" were any magnetic debris would attach its selve to the magnet with the oil then flowing onwards to the oil pump.

This is has far as I have got, see pics, it is made from a plumbing compression tee piece, if successful I will post it if not I'll keep my head down. Any ideas on its development would be very welcome.

Regards,
John P.

I have a couple of those " commando " style ones on other bikes but they're huge and a couple of Bob light ones on other bikes which are fiddly to find a place for on ariels.

Morgo do a small one for three times as much but it's nice...

Was looking for an alternative one but if there is no real alternatives..

The morgo is very easy to fix to the rear bottom sidecar mount also.
