Cammy 4F 600cc Pistons

I know this won't help but you might be interested to hear about my cammy, it has some strange +60 pistons in with three compression rings. I thought they maybe from an Austin 7, but this appears not to be the case. My bores are barrel shaped just over a thou or more in each, there is loads of skirt clearance, in the order of seven thou as I recall, but with new rings in recently (and a new bottom end from Alfa) it is as sweet as anything using top to bottom of the dipstick marks in just over 100miles. Excellent machine......

I often used aluminium buttons in my racing engines due to doubts about the circlips , they were easy to make and effective.

Thanks Nick....I hadn't seen them but they are listed as for the pushrod 600cc engine...not the 4F.

Having had a very useful PM discussion with Ian Scott, I'm going to re-use my existing pistons with aluminium buttons in the gudgeon pins.
