Well, after Paul Jameson made such an awesome job of refurbishing my speedo the rest of the bike was really not going to do it justice so I decided to strip it right down and build it up nicely for the summer (not sure which summer yet!!).
I just got the frame back from Cheshire Powder Coating so I guess it's time to start thinking about the re-assembly... They seem to have done a nice job except for 2 things, they have coated the brake pedal spigot (trying to tell me something!!), but that should clean up ok and they have blasted the head-stock bearing tracks but I'm just planning to polish them smooth, apply a bit of Moly grease and not worry about that too much...
Status so far:
Tank is away with Bronzecraft to have it's chrome put back on
Wheels gone to Black Cat Wheels in Dudley for rebuild
A couple of small parts away for chroming with Niphos in Crewe
Cylinder barrel with IMD re-bores in Beeston... for a re-bore
The rest is with me...
Engine is in as many pieces as it possibly could be... yikes!!
Gearbox is on the bench for hopefully just a strip and clean
Forks as yet untouched, as are the handlebars / controls etc.
Dog is ready to help...
Will keep you up-dated
