The chronometrics were originally designed to take the vibration of WW1 aero engines ,and read reliably .......when the war was over,a new application was found as a car tacho or speedo....the Jaegar.

Re: VB 600 slight judder

In a low compression engine, its easy to run with excessive advance without any signs .....no extra power, probably less and very high loads on the bearings ,leading to crankpin breakage and roller failure.

Re: 1 Inch tubing in the Netherlands

The CDS hydraulic tube is available in different wall thicknesses,up to heavy enough to be used for gunbarrels.....not that it matters for a bike frame, but each length is also proof tested to as much as 10,000psi......Stainless is also available ,and its a malleable type, can be flared and swaged.

Re: Black Ariel speedometer mount

Most speedo s cannot take the pounding of girder forks ,and must not be mounted like a Chronometric on a live part of the front suspension..........Incidentally ,note the first bike has strutted girder forks.....not enough clarity to tell if they are genuine Webbs ,or a home done modification.

Petrol has had more or less alcohol added ever since Karl Benz went for a drive, and there was never the uproar before .....I used to use "Phillips 66",which had a lot of alcohol added.....in the 70s.

Re: Wot, no oil pressure release / relief valve? Square 4 Mk1

Any breakage will happen in the first few minutes after starting ,when the oil is thickest......I suspect the pressure may be rising to 1000psi or more if the motor is revved ......There must be some way of including a relief valve in the morgo pump.

Most SV Morgans have grown OHV in search of the megabucks paid for any kind of 4 wheeler sports machine that can compete in vintage racing.

Try them with a fine file ....the file should skid over the hardened surface.
