Re: VH tank from India

Tank arrived today, see the pictures. Hmmmmmm, well , what I think.... From a few steps away it does indeed look like a Ariel tank. What I actually ordered was a 1953 twin tank but then without the 'second' hole for the oil gauge. Hoping by doing so I would get a 1953 (one year only) slightly larger...

The lower nut sits on a short threaded stud that is rivited into the engine plate, sometimes this gets pulled out.
If so, welding it will fix that but make sure nothing protrudes at the back as the box needs to slide there.

Yes, some new ones on Ebay, but I look for a black and scruffy one to go with the look of the bike...
But I think I'll make one, It looks like a collection of flat bits of sheet metal with here and there a single flat curve.

I closed in a bit but still 8 to 10 meters between us. From the right but not having right of way came a large Audi, driver looking at me and -withou...

It sums up to this : It's the ' Fuck You' generation driving cars now.
A lot of drivers will and can not be bothered with how you on your motorbike will get away in situations they are creating.

powder coating rims

Because of building a 'SpAriel' on the cheap (...) Is powder coating of wheelrims in regard to levering tyres on (and off!) a wise move? I am thinking of having two early fifties wheels (rim, spokes and hub) powder coated. Is this a good idea or is using a car type paint better ? (stronger?) Any vie...

Royal Crusaders are now having a "Ariel new 500cc petrol tank raw" on Ebay # 260854018195.
Yesterday they send me exactly these pictures as it being the tank that I bought, should be over here in two weeks time they say.
