Hi Guys; - please can anyone confirm the thread of the wing nuts which hold the "Eureka" oil pressure gauge in the tank panel?

Not quite the answer you were looking for, but the later single-stud guages are 2BA, if its any help.
cheers

Hi Folks; - it is certainly not 2BA - it's closer to 4BA but it isn't that either!
(... might actually be M4 but somewhat unlikely).

Is this a genuine period guage then John?

1/8" bsf? Can you get an estimate of the tpi and measure the diameter?
cheers

Hi Simes -
I doubt the gauge is original period source despite having "ARIEL" printed on the facia - the rest of it is in too good a condition...
cannot recall though when or where I acquired it.
best I can currently offer is 0.15" (c/o nasty plastic digital vernier... so best guestimate) with
~ 34tpi (measured over the available 1/2" length & extrapolated, using ageing eyes + x10 loupe)...
Fortunately I have found a nut (correct for the stud) in the odds & sods box...
so am no longer in desperate need of a replacement wing nut. Cheers, John.

If the approx 34tpi is close ,the thread may be 3BA.....which is used in certain Lucas stuff....other threads that are close are 4mmx.75mm....note...standard metric is 4x.7
